Who We Are

The Counter Trafficking in Persons Office (CTIP) is a joint project of the Leadership Conference of Consecrated Life [LCCL(SA)] and the Southern African Catholic Bishops’ Conference (SACBC). The original inspiration and promotion of this initiative is due to Constellation Six (C6) – congregations of religious women who have their Generalates in Southern Africa.

Vision Statement

Our vision is the creation of a world in which all its peoples are safe, respected, valued and given the dignity which is their fundamental human right; a world where no one seeks to exploit and enslave another for the purpose of any gain.

What you can do

•  Create awareness of the issue and pray in parishes for the victims of trafficking

•  Welcome strangers and foreigners so that they find a home in the parish community.

•  Through J&P parish groups advocate for legislation on Human tracking

•  Form or join groups to oppose the ‘grooming’ of young people for the 2010 sex industry.
